چکیده

A frontal mucocele is an epithelium-lined, mucuscontaining cyst filling in the frontal sinus. It is capable of expansion to erode the surrounding structures, which may result in severe complications such as orbital infection or intracranial lesions. The clinical presentation of frontal mucoceles includes frontal headache, swelling of the upper eyelid, and ophthalmic symptoms, such as proptosis and diplopia. Oculomotor nerve palsy (ptosis) is seldom seen in patients with frontal mucoceles. It is even rare to find ptosis as the only chief complaint. An extensive literature search revealed only one such case, reported by Ehrenpreis and Biedlingmaier1 in 1995. In this report, we present another case of frontal sinus mucocele presenting with only ptosis. Endoscopic sinus surgery was performed to remove the lesion. Rapid resolution of ptosis was noted within 2 days after the operation.
